Construction workloads rose in Scotland in the second quarter with 33per cent more respondents reporting higher activity levels, twice the rating of the first quarter. Almost three-quarters of firms expect to see workloads rise, on average by 3.8per cent. The net balance reporting higher workloads was 45per cent in private housing and 40per cent in the private commercial sector. However George Mackie of Ogilvie Construction in Stirling, commented: “There still remains a serious shortage of construction professionals required to deliver the increase in workloads being experienced.”
