FORMER Historic Scotland finance director Myriam Madden has been elected as the president of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Ms Madden has also held finance roles in the Scottish Arts Council, Creative Scotland, NHS Education for Scotland, Bank of Scotland and Hewlett Packard.

The Edinburgh based accountant is the 82nd person to take up the voluntary post as head of CIMA where she will chair the governance arrangements and act as an advocate for the organisation.

On her election to the post Ms Madden said: “It is a great honour and I look forward to further building on the institute’s success both in Scotland and across the globe.”

CIMA has 227,000 students and members in 179 countries around the world.
