Scottish cider maker Thistly Cross has struck an import deal with a US brand.

The Dunbar company is expanding its longstanding collaboration with JK’s Scrumpy Cider bring cans of the organic beverage, made in Michigan, to the UK.

Thistly Cross has been distributed into 40 US states helped by its transatlantic partnership.

Luke Fenton, one of Thistly Cross’s US cider ambassadors, said it now wanted to help JK’s expand in the UK.

Peter Stuart, head cidermaker at Thistly Cross, said: “Although both farms are separated by over 3500 miles, it was clear from the start that the companies shared the same values and goals.”
