Glasgow partner for Scott-Moncrieff
ACCOUNTANCY firm Scott-Moncrieff has appointed Allison Gibson as a partner in its Glasgow office.
Ms Gibson has been with the Edinburgh-based firm for 17 years, having joined as a CA (chartered accountant) trainee in 1998.
She provides audit, accounting, operational and technical advice to SMEs (small to medium-sized enterprises) and owner-managed businesses in the manufacturing, distribution, property and construction sectors, as well as training. Ms Gibson also has a number of clients in the charity sector.
Managing partner Stewart MacDonald said: “Allison has worked her way up through the business, and has rightly earned the loyalty of her clients and colleagues along the way. She has established a solid client base while developing both the team and business, and in particular, has been well placed to advise owner managers on the ever-changing landscape that comes along with challenging circumstances.
“With a track record of commitment and success, Allison’s advancement to partner is very well deserved.”
DM Hall hires Smith as associate
DM Hall has hired Gavin Smith as an associate, taking the headcount in the residential surveying team in the firm’s Glasgow office to 19.
Mr Smith, who qualified as a chartered surveyor in 2013, gained most of his professional experience to date with Murray and Muir, which was acquired by Allied Surveyors Scotland earlier this year.
A certified Domestic Energy Assessor who produces residential Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for clients, his new role will focus principally on residential surveys, including Home Reports and mortgage valuations.
Mr Smith has experience of the residential property market in the Glasgow area and is on the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) matrics committee for Glasgow and the west of Scotland.
Managing partner DM Hall Eric Curran said: “Gavin’s arrival at DM Hall is very welcome and further boosts our capacity to accommodate client demand in the burgeoning residential market.
“He is a capable and committed chartered surveyor who, I am sure, will help us maintain the firm’s leading role in Scotland’s residential property sector.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
