NORTH Sea-focused Serica Energy has hit a complication in its attempts to maximise production from the Erskine field 160 miles east of Aberdeen. London-based Serica noted that production from Erskine restarted on 27 July following a delay while work was completed on the Lomond production platform which the field is linked to. It added that Shell, which operates the platform, has said further work must be done on Lomond before Erskine can be returned to full, continuous production. Led by Tony Craven Walker, Serica has been advised by Shell that this is likely to take several more days. Last month Mr Craven Walker said Erskine had made a strong contribution to earnings since Serica bought into the field in June 2015, a year after the crude price started tumbling.
