A TEACHER who was jailed after fleeing to France with a 15-year-old pupil is making a bid to return to the classroom, reports suggest.

Jeremy Forrest, who is banned from teaching kids unsupervised, has posted his CV online in the hope of securing a new job.

The 33-year-old, from Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, was freed from prison in July after serving half of a five and a half year sentence.

A source is reported as saying: "It's unbelievable he's trying to get back into education."

The former teacher, who is now believed to be living in London, fails to mention his time in prison on the CV, which includes "education" as one of his chosen industries.

In the area detailing past experience, for the years he was in prison he simply says "explain on interview".

The source, who saw the document online, added: "His name is very recognisable, but anyone who doesn't know who he is will be very shocked when they invite him to interview and hear his explanation.

"No-one would begrudge him getting on with his life and looking for a new job, but it beggars belief he'd seek to get into teaching again."

Forrest is subject to a sexual offences prevention order for life.
