A HEAVILY pregnant shop worker who was attacked with a high voltage stun gun during a robbery has been allowed home from hospital.

Friends say Jacqui Young, 31, is recovering after being hit with up to 60,000 volts from the weapon after three masked raiders burst in to the Original Factory Shop in Kelso on Monday morning.

Both she and her colleague, Alex McMurray, were given electric shocks with the weapon before the raiders made their getaway with a large amount of cash.

Paramedics took Ms Young, who is expecting her first child, to hospital and Mr McMurray, 34, was treated at the scene.

Asked if Ms Young had been allowed home, one of her relatives, Elaine Halliday, replied: "Yes, she has."

Rachel Macvicar, a sales assistant at the store, shared the police appeal for information. A friend responded, saying they hoped everyone was okay. Ms Macvicar replied: "Yes, luckily they're both fine."

The robbers made their getaway in a Toyota Celica, which they dumped in a Sainsbury's car park less than two miles away.
