POLICE have issued a further appeal for help to trace a missing woman from Paisley.

Avril Vint, 44, was last seen on Glasgow Road around 6.30pm on Saturday February 6.

Police were told of another sighting of a woman matching Avril's description on Mill Street, near the River Cart, around 11.40pm the same day.

They have scoured CCTV but are yet to find her.

Officers said the woman is understood to be "going through a difficult period in her life" and have asked for the public's help in tracing her.

Sergeant Mark Rasdale of Paisley Police Office said: "The last sighting we have of Avril was around 1830 hours on Saturday night, however we received a report of a woman matching Avril’s description on Mill Street near to the River Cart around 11.40pm that evening.

“We understand Avril is going through a difficult period in her life and we are continuing to carry out enquiries in the local area and study CCTV footage in an effort to gather any information on her whereabouts.

“I would urge anyone who may have seen Avril, or who has any information on her whereabouts to contact Police Scotland on 101."

Avril is described as white, 5ft tall and of slim build with black hair.

When she was last seen she was wearing a black padded coat and wellie boots.
