Large areas in central and north-east Scotland have been submerged by fresh flooding today, as our pictures show.

The Met Office has issued amber ''be prepared'' warnings for heavy rain in the Grampian, Central, Tayside and Fife areas of Scotland today (see below).

Last week the worst damage was inflicted on areas in the Borders and Dumfries & Galloway, as well the north-east.

Today the north-east has again been badly affected along with central and eastern regions.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) has more than 35 flood warnings in place, covering Tayside, Angus, Dundee, Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. It has also issued four flood alerts, including one for the Scottish Borders.
