Motherwell have revealed serious concerns for player safety after Dundee's pitch was deemed playable for today's clash at Dens Park.

The surface failed an 11am inspection but was passed at 1pm after referee David Dickenson took a further look.

Videos emerging from the ground show multiple discoloured patches of grass and a generally low standard of playing surface.

The Steelmen are furious about having to play in such conditions citing profound concerns about the suitability of the grass for elite football.
